Sahara 4x4-Tour

Day 1 Marrakech - Ouarzazate - Agdez

In the morning, we pick you up from your riad and head towards the High Atlas Mountains. We cross the Tizin Tichka Pass with approx. 2.260 m. We make photo stops and breaks to explore the landscape of the Atlas region.

We visit the famous and well-preserved Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. The Kasbah from the 17th century is the backdrop of numerous Hollywood films.

The journey continues to Ouarzazate, where there are some active film studios. Lunch on the way and then continue to Agdez. Our journey resumes and takes us on to the Draa Valley, travelling through magnificent Anti Atlas mountains. We spend our first night in a lovely typical riad in Agdez. -/-/D

Day 2 Agdez - Erg Chegaga via Mhamid 

After breakfast, we drive along the green Draa Valley crossing 100 Km of palm trees to Zagora as one of the biggest palm tree areas. We pass through Tamegroute, famous for its craft pottery production, and reach M’Hamid. Lunch in this small village. From M’Hamid, and after saying goodbye to civilization, we continue our journey deep into the desert for a memorable journey through the Sahara and along the old track of the Paris-Dakar rally, by jeep . After covering 60 km of off road, we reach the dunes of Erg Chegaga – the amazing area of golden sand dunes stretching for 40 km and reaching a height of 300 metres. A cup of tea and some nuts are offered before you climb the sand dunes for an unforgettable moment to enjoy the sunset. A traditional nomad dinner with music around fire and overnight accommodation in a nomad tent. B/-/D

Day 3 Erg Chegaga - Trekking with dromedaries / sandboarding

After enjoying the golden hour of sunrise over the sand dunes, and after serving you your breakfast in the open air, we start our day trekking with the dromedaries for a ride. After 2 or 3 hours of riding, we reach our destination where we cook your lunch under your eyes baking fresh sand bread in the traditional nomad lifestyle. Later and after getting back to the camp, it will be time for enjoying sandboarding and sunset over sand dunes. Dinner and overnight accommodation in the Berber camp. B/L/D

Day 4 Erg Chegaga - Tazenakht - Marrakech

Departure after breakfast in the morning, we start our day by car along the old track of the Paris-Dakar rally, through the dried up salty lake of Iriqui. We stop in a very old fossil place leaving the desert and sand dunes behind. Lunch in Tazenakht, a famous Berber carpet town. Return to Marrakesh via the high Atlas mountains towards evening. B/-/-
